A little about Mrs. Kleinert...

Greetings!  My name is Christi Kleinert.  I want to begin by welcoming you to our class!    I am looking forward to a fabulous adventure with your child this year.

I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself.  This is my fifteenth year of teaching.  I began my teaching career in Giddings, Texas, as an elementary P.E. teacher and a high school coach.  My family moved to Abilene after teaching in Giddings for three years and I took on the role of After-School Program Director for the YWCA of Abilene.  I managed after-school programs at 18 Abilene  schools. After five years in that position my family relocated to Centerville.  I was hired at Buffalo Elementary as a first grade teacher.  I spent three years at Buffalo before accepting a first grade position in Fairfield.  I taught in Fairfield for six years before deciding to relocate a little closer to home, here in Giddings.   My husband, Mike, works for Acme Brick.  We have three children; Bryson, who will be entering 8th grade this year, Taryn, who is entering 5th, and Easton, who will be making his debut in Kindergarten.

In addition to academic concepts, your child will be exposed to the concepts of responsibility and accountability. We will discuss a lot this year about making good choices and the consequences (positive and negative) of the choices we make.  I believe very strongly that children must learn these simple concepts to be successful.

Again, I am very excited about this year and I am very happy to have you and your child as a part of my class.
